Well, the first day is behind me. My first impressions. It was rather interesting to note that while Saint Thomas Academy is a private, Catholic, all-male, military, college prep high school...it is still high school. The students are different, but the same in so many ways.
They are different in that there is a certain level of respect and discipline that was not present when I was going through my public high school. However, they are still high school students on the first day with all the high energy level radiating through the tiredness of having to wake up early in the morning.
It was a good day, but I realize that there is still a great deal that I have to learn about teaching and about how to communicate the ideas of Jesus Christ to these students.
It was a good day and I look forward to all the future 174 days...but who's counting?
