I am sitting here at Barnes and Noble and I witnessed love. No, it was not some young couple that came in. It was not some PDA. Rather, it was an elderly couple that came in together. I would guess they are around the age of 80. The husband is balding and has some bad posture. His wife walked in very slowly with a cane. The husband walked along so patiently with his wife, not frustrated by the slow pace, not trying to hurry her, not pushing her along, but simply walking right by her side. They approached a table, she began to remove her jacket with some difficulty, the husband jumped over to help her immediately, and he then proceeded to get a chair for her and helped her push the char in.
After a few minutes, she seemingly expressed her interest in looking at books, so the husband got up from his chair, helped his wife, and they proceed to walk around the store at an excruciatingly slow pace...but without a hint of impatience on the face of the husband.
He loves his wife so much that he is willing to slow himself down, limit himself, to her capabilities just so that he can be with her.
That, my friends, is love. He sacrifices his own desires, wants, and capabilities just to be with her. Love.
